Museum Design Workshops
Help Museums Create Engaging Exhibitions
After assisting a small rural museum to obtain a Heritage Lottery Funding (HLF) stage one pass. Our museum exhibition design team have been asked to help prepare a museum design proposal ready for stage 2 submission.
The process will begin by using our museum design workshops. Our approach help immerse museums staff in the exhibition design process.
This methodology will create engaging exhibitions by combining the teams’ curatorial ideas to make the best possible exhibition design solutions. The museum staffs knowledge of their collections is far better than anyone else. So with their direct input into our designs it vastly improves the exhibitions, content and displays for visitor interaction and enjoyment.
During the workshops we generate a simple model from card on top of a floor plan of your space. This process allows museum staff to better understand how layouts, storylines and interpretation will work in the final displays.
Furthermore, our museum workshops are carried out at your location so they are extremely accommodating to staff exisiting commitments.
If you haven't used this approach before you will be amazed at the results.
SMA design continues to hold its 100% application success for Heritage Lottery Fund Projects for the last 10 years.
